The Advancing Leprosy and Disadvantaged People's Opportunities Society (ALO) is working for the "Education for Empowerment Project 1st Phase" in Bangladesh. The initiative aims to empower individuals affected by leprosy, their families, members of Leprosy People’s Organizations (LPOs), communities, and both adult and young students through educational support. The project was funded by the Sasakawa Health Foundation (SHF) and received technical assistance from The Leprosy Mission International-Bangladesh (TLMI-B).
Implemented in collaboration with 18 LPOs, the project spanned five districts—Dhaka, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Khagrachari, and Rangamati—across three divisions in Bangladesh. This marks the second time ALO has executed a project of this nature.
